ISE Cultural Foundation Gallery in New York was established in 1984 as a non-profit organization to support mostly emerging, under-represented artists and curators by providing the opportunities of exhibition in New York City.
We have held various projects such as "Asia Art Series" which introduced the artists from many Asian countries to the US audience to help the cultural exchange internationally. Since 2002 we have focused on the project, "Program for Emerging Curators" (PEC), which gives emerging curators an opportunity to organize their exhibition in our gallery space, approximately 2,000 sq. feet, in SOHO, NY. PEC is an open call program for curators all over the world and had more than 30 PEC exhibitions successfully. Our consistent effort to provide experimental and alternative venue for curators and artists has been recognized on many great reviews over the years, such as, New York Times, New Yorker, Art in America, TimeOut NY, Village VOICE etc.
Other open call program we have provided is "Art Student Exhibition". The program offers art students a place to exhibit their artwork. More than 100 art students from all over the world apply every summer since 2005. We invite the celebrated art professionals as jurors, such as, curator and director from museums and galleries, independent curators, art critics, etc, who will be awarding selected artworks at the Award Ceremony & Closing Party.
ISE Cultural Foundation have also given artist talks and lectures by highly established artists, Alex Katz, Mariko Mori, Jack Pierson, and Ushio Shinohara for public.
